Day 124 "Orchids" 6 x 9 pen & ink
Our friends in Florida have a lovely collection of orchids collected on their lanai. The orchids seems to love their environment, sheltered from direct sun and predators, each plant so different from the others. Some have roots that hang in the air, observing moisture from the air and an occasional light watering. The leaves are so varied, and blooms as well. There are a lot of stems showing promise, and some with small buds. The flowers are beautiful. Colors can be subtle, or more vivid. I enjoyed sitting among the flowers examining their individual characteristics. This is my hundred twenty-fourth daily drawing. Thanks for observing the world through my eyes.
Day 123 "Lanai" pen, ink, watercolor pencil
How nice to arrive at our friends' lovely home in Sarasota FL for a few days. Their home is graceful and lovely, very open, with a lanai out back that shelters a saltwater pool. Our friends have a collection of orchids, which are so interesting and varied in their shapes and sizes. I did a few drawings inside the lanai.
I loved our time there, we were outside for biking, swimming, eating, walking.. a very welcome change from January here in Massachusetts.
This is my hundred twenty-third daily drawing. Thank you for your continued interest.
