"Cut River" watercolor/ink/pencil 9 x 12

Here's the "Cut River" completed. I used my block in (see left) which showed the light and shadow pattern as a guide.  The small yellow house, darkest to the left, became the lightest in the finished painting.  I'm going to show to my art students as a jumping off point about how important value is.

  1. Oh how beautiful! I do like this even more than the oil painting you did previously! Is that a little boat in the water...as though a child was playing and got distracted and left it? The colors are magnificent!

    1. Thanks, Crimson. Me, too. Those are sort of gulls, or maybe a small boat in the river. I left it vague on purpose.
