Day 146 "Sky LIght" 8 x 9 mixed

A few weeks ago we flew down to Florida to spend an extended weekend with good friends.  I caught this beautiful dusk out the plane window on the way down.  I love the powerful clouds against the modern shapes of buildings and planes.  A quick sketch of what might make a good painting one day.
This is my hundred forty-sixth daily drawing.  Thank you for joining in with my observations of daily life.

Monhegan Sketchbook - Thinking Summer in Winter 9 x 12

Looking at my Monhegan sketchbooks today and added some watercolor pencil to part of this page.  The sun is out here in February, and starting to feel strong.  I'm reminiscing about my favorite island in the sun.
Watercolor pencils are interesting because you can layer them, wet them, add dry on top, mix complements, add depth, and explore.
Thinking of summer in the bright of winter.
Thanks for looking.

Monhegan Sketchbook July 28

We're back on Monhegan!  A friend is here with her partner and their two moms, both in their 80's.  Our friend rented a golf cart to aid with the moms' mobility on the island, and I had the pleasure of painting with them up on Lighthouse Hill yesterday. I need to do a little tweaking, then will post that painting later this week.  Today it has gone from gray to drizzle, to SIDEWAYS DOWNPOUR, and now maybe to some clearing.  I have been working in my sketchbook, using watercolor and/or watercolor pencils.  Here are some recent images.

As always, thanks for looking.  I love your comments, too.
